Encore Architectural Salvage evolved from the passion of bringing forgotten pieces of architecture and wood back to life with a bit of creativity.

Owner Bryant Dyess, from Montgomery, Alabama, was working in Law Enforcement while completing side-projects on his days off. Through the insight of a handful of creative people in Opelika, Alabama, Bryant was introduced to the treasures of antique Heart Pine lumber. Inspired by its beauty and endless possibilities, he began creating unique pieces ranging from dining room tables to custom mirrors, using only salvaged materials. Bryant opened Encore in 2012 as a small rented booth at an antique store in Opelika to display his works. Bryant’s now wife Georgia encouraged him to continue to pursue his passion in carpentry work, eventually bringing him to South Carolina.

With Georgia’s help and encouragement, Bryant opened his first storefront in St.Matthews, SC. Encore grew quickly and allowed Bryant to purchase a manufacturing company located in Orangeburg,SC. Established in 2015, Reclaimed Milling Company is equipped with precise machinery to give clients custom flooring, specified lumber and a variety of reclaimed wood products. Additionally, Reclaimed Milling provides Bryant the ability to exercise his ingenuity and continue creating his distinguished pieces. Now, Encore has moved to Charleston, with a new storefront on King Street. Encore prides itself on being locally owned and operated in South Carolina, while continuing to offer quality products to its customers.
